Here is the pesto recipe from the Body Ecology Diet (a book that mainly deals with candida albicans and pH balance of the body).  It does not use cheese… Yippppppppppeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

3-4 cups fresh basil

3/4 cup organic extra virgin olive oil (if doing a candida diet, use flax or pumpkin oil.  I only used olive, though)

1 teaspoon sea salt

Rind of one lemon

3 tablespoons lemon juice (about 1 juicy lemon)

3-4 clove garlic (I like more)

1/2 cup parsley

Combine all the ingredients in a blender until thoroughly pureed.  Serve over tomatoes, noodles, red potatoes, grains or a salad of veggies.  Enjoy!
